Nikolaus Effler was fascinated by the spices from all around the world, the exclusive taste and their diversity. His idea to offer standardized spices for meat- and sausage producers was the start for the Nubassa Gewürzwerk.

The entry in the commercial register of the company took place and the Nubassa trademark is registered at the German Patent Office.
Nubassa specializes in the production of spice mixtures and additives for the butcher´s trade and meat industry.

The continuous success requires more production capacity.
A new permanent establishment is being built in the industrial area Viernheim.
With the introduction of innovative products, like the combi cutter agent, Nuba-Fosrot with curing, Nubassa continues to expand.


Hr. R. Effler


The son of the founder, Master of Business Administration Roger Effler, takes over the management of the company and promotes the development to new global markets, which requires a further extension of the production facilities.


Marinaden Geschichte neu


Nubassa produced, as one of the first companies in Germany, marinades to give customers new culinary flavors. This breakthrough development is another success in the corporate policy of Roger Effler.


Marcus Effler bearbeitet


Marcus Effler, son of the manager, joins the company, therefore the continuation of the 3rd generation is guaranteed.
The expansion of the product range requires larger storage capacity, a new high-bay warehouse was built.




The expansion abroad is being pushed. New partners were won and other foreign representations constructed.
Nubassa is now represented in over 35 countries with independent exclusive partners, in many other countries are direct customers.




The foundation stone for the new administration and production building is done by Roger and Marcus Effler.


Gebude 15.09.2011


The employees move into the new premises with light-flooded offices. Attached is a modern laboratory with a technical center. Large premises are available for seminars and meetings.

Nubassa celebrates its 75th anniversary under the motto "Prices almost like 75 years ago".
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry congratulates recognizing this entrepreneurial performance for the 75th anniversary of the successful family business.

As the first German spice factory Nubassa was certified according to the ISO 22000:2005 for the areas in: development, production and distribution of spices, spice specialties, flavors, marinades and additives for meat and food processing.
With this globally recognized certification for the highest food safety Nubassa meets the continuously increasing demands of the global market.
The company was also recertified according to the ISO 9001:2008.


Neue Halle 11.09.2015


The business development of Nubassa requires a further extension of production and storage capacities.
The neighboring plot with about 3,000 sqm was purchased.
A logistic center with about 1000 sqm was built, which guarantees an even faster flow of goods.


Neues Hochregallager 07.10.2016


At the new logistics center, a section was put into operation and the individual logistic processes optimized.
A wide range of goods, fast availability and dynamic provisioning, guarantee best services.
Special importance was also attached to ergonomic working conditions of the employees.


Herr Michael Mohr Geschaeftsfuehrer


In July Mr. Michael Mohr, son in law of Mr. Roger Effler, joins the family business as manager. The leadership now consists of Mr. Roger Effler, Mr. Marcus Effler and Mr. Michael Mohr.


Packtisch 13.10.2016


The distribution area is optimized and implemented across systems into the existing SAP system. It offers new packing lines, in which particular value is laid on optimized workflows and ergonomic workstations.
